#THE FREQUENCY – NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL IS BACK
#MANY FAMILIAR AND NEW FACES
“MISSION COMPLETED” – these two words summarise Supreme Women&Men Düsseldorf, which has just come to an end. Retailers, suppliers, exhibitors and buyers made demands and Supreme Women&Men provided the working environment with its order platform.
Looking back over the past four days, it is clear that the current market situation requires a structural change in the trade fair landscape. It became clear that there is nothing comparable to Supreme Women&Men in Germany.
The standard was further expanded and sharpened. With a view to the upcoming trends in the fashion market for autumn/winter 2024/25, the order platform consolidates the event with its selection of exhibitors and products and at the same time serves as a source of inspiration and sighting for retailers. Buyers deliberately planned more time on the floor for this.
BEFORE THE TRADE FAIR IS AFTER THE TRADE FAIR
For the organiser, before the trade fair is after the trade fair, because the national and international scouting process begins anew. Brands and manufacturers are identified, evaluated and checked not only for products and qualities, but also for price ranges, in order to ultimately create a homogeneous, exciting portfolio for the buyers. The Supreme Women&Men is characterised by 75-80% of the regular exhibitors, but is always supplemented by around 20% surprising brands in order to provide innovative impulses for the industry.
Not least due to the demand, the space on the order platform of Supreme Women&Men Düsseldorf and Munich was already “completed” in October, i.e. four months before the actual event.
“My team and I take on board the changes in the industry, analyse them and align our order platform accordingly without losing our roots, with which we have made a name for ourselves in the fashion industry since 2007, i.e. for 16 years now,” says Aline Müller-Schade, Managing Partner, The Supreme Group.
“Our success is based precisely on the fact that we don’t have to keep reinventing ourselves, but instead cater to the needs of our ‘customers’, support them in their individuality and offer them exactly the brand environment they need for their success in our spaces. We network consistently throughout the year, work closely with producers and agencies and thus create the best possible synergies to keep the fashion wheel turning. In doing so, we deliberately avoid the gigantism that used to exist in the industry and do not expand, but rather select in advance what arouses desire in the market.”
AUTUMN/WINTER TRENDS FROM THE EXHIBITORS
Supreme Women&Men showcased urban winter trends with unusual down interpretations such as new, short bomber jackets, as seen at JNBY (exhibitor Supreme Women&Men Munich, but supplier to the hostesses in Düsseldorf) or fake fur variants, as seen at ARTICO/SUPREMA. Lots of colour is returning to liven up the winter gloom, as can be seen in the colourful cashmere variations from CASHMERE ME. Prints are experiencing a revival in winter. The transition between the seasons can be blurred by winter prints on delicate fabrics, such as those from the YESS BELGIUM brand, which add an emotional touch. Prints are becoming strong in general and can also be found on new skirt shapes at LUNATICA MILANO. The bell skirt (also worn by SUSANNE BOMMER, among others) is now combined with short cardigans.
Tailoring is taking on a new form with exciting pinstripe suits, as seen at the MAX MARA GROUP and others, and in the menswear shirt segment, there is no getting around the “best performance” shirts from TRAIANO.
IT CAN BE SUMMARISED AS FOLLOWS:
Four exciting days, hustle and bustle on the stands and an overall positive mood give hope for a promising development in retail. An astonishing number of buyers and retailers from Austria and Switzerland, who had not been present in Düsseldorf for many years, found their way to Düsseldorf and completed the international environment of Supreme Women&Men Düsseldorf with visitors from Korea, Ireland, Iceland, Greece, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Japan and other countries.
The next summer edition, season spring/summer 2025, will take place from 26-29 July 2024.
